Brits 'looking for new floor tiles'

07/02/2012

When redecorating their home with new star galaxy granite tiles, people are less likely to be looking for tried and tested conventional flooring options.

This has been suggested by interior designer Carolyn Parker, who acknowledged wooden floors are still a popular look in kitchens.

However, she added people are bored of dark wooden varieties, suggesting limed oak is becoming preferable.

The expert explained this provides a lighter and more calming tone, which complements natural fabric colours currently in vogue.

Indeed, founder and managing director of Ecora Daniel Bloom recently suggested whites, greys, dark browns and black are popular floor tile options

She also added wood appears to be popular in kitchens, particularly in white washes and grey and there are "many designs you could have" in terms of vinyl.

"You're not limited. A lot of vinyl even comes with textured finishes, you can get them with silver bits in," she continued.
